Have you ever wondered what happens to the bikes used by the pros at the end of the season? Contrary to popular belief, and perhaps the desire of everyone who aspires to be a pro, riders do not keep their bikes.

Of course, bikes that have contributed to a particularly special victory or have been used in a particularly fruitful season may do so, but the vast majority are returned to the team, given to sponsors, stripped of parts, or quietly sold.

On this last point, the Italian website BikeRoom aims to remove the "quietly" and connect sellers with the public. It previously sold Tadei Pogacar's time trial bike for 35,000 euros and is currently selling the bike that Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard rode in the 2022 season.

This is a Cervelo Caledonia 5, as he spent most of his races on the brand's lightweight R5 and Aero S5.

At 54 cm, it is equipped with the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 that the team used before switching to SRAM.

If you're looking for a bargain on a used bike, this one probably isn't for you, as it costs a hefty €13,390. If you were to buy a new bike from a store, it would cost more than the price of this bike. Of course, the allure of riding a Tour Champion bike makes it worth it, and it may be more of a collector's item than a winter ride with mudguards.

The Danish superstar is a big name in Jumbo Visma (now known as Visma Lease-a-Bike) and is not the only rider whose bike is currently for sale. Only two riders from the Black and Yellow Brigade are bigger names than the man who won the Tour de France twice, and they are Wout Van Aert and Marianne Vos.

There is not one bike with Van Aert's sticker on it, but oddly enough, three in different sizes: two R5-CX cyclocross bikes, both 58 cm, presumably with new bearings, having been pressure washed constantly throughout the season. Then there is the Caledonia 5, which is 56 cm. The smaller size is probably due to the bike's relatively relaxed position.

Fortunately for fans of multidiscipline, these bikes are inexpensive, but still cost €10,647.54 each.

Perhaps the most visually appealing bike in the collection is the World Champion Edition R5-CX, previously owned by Voss, with the forks changed from the usual yellow to rainbow.

It comes in size 51 and is priced slightly less at €8,516.39. If you want to save money or don't want to be falsely accused of cyclocross prowess, her standard (non-world champion) R5-CX is also available for €7,860.66.

Naturally, this site is not limited to Jumbo-Visma bikes.
