Jonas Vingegaard returns to high altitude training camp in Teide in February.

Jonas Vingegaard's approach to the 2024 season in the last weeks will be the same as the 2023 season, reports the management of Visma Reese A Bikes.

Vingegaard will begin high altitude training in Teide in early February and will defend his 2023 victory at Gran Camino.

Wingegaard, who took his first overall win of the season, won all three stages, but stage 4 was cancelled due to bad weather.

After a four-day event in Galicia, northern Spain (February 22-26), Vingegaard will be back in action before the Tour de France at Tirreno Adriatico (March 4-10), Iturria Basque (April 1-6), and Criterium du Dauphiné (June 2-9). (June 2-9).

"Jonas is doing well in his training camp in Spain and is building good relationships with the other riders.

"The players going to the highlands went home a little early so they could spend two weeks with their families before going to the three-week highlands camp.

As for 2023, "Jonas had a great year. He is one of the favorites to win the Tour and we hope to do it again, but of course with [Tadej] Pogachal, [Lemko] Evenpole, and [Primos] Roglic it won't be easy.

Maassen added that new Belgian rider Sian Wittdebroeks, who is set to compete in the Giro d'Italia and is considered a potential star of the stage race, will compete in O Gran Camino and Iturria Basque with Vinegegor. At the same time, Wisma Ries A Bike is still getting used to racing with Primoz Roglic (Uitdebreuks' former team), who is now with Bora Hansgrohe.

"It will be strange because he was one of our riders. 'Now he's one of our big rivals. But I'm looking forward to it."
