Great Britain won its 12th medal at the UEC European Track Championships in Apeldoorn on Saturday, with Josie Knight winning the women's individual pursuit. Anna Morris' bronze medal brought Great Britain's medal haul to 13.
Germany won the women's team sprint, men's Madison, and women's keirin to take nine medals.
The Netherlands finished a close second with Harry Lavreisen completing a hat trick in the Keirin, Individual Sprint, and Team Sprint.
"I did the triple sprint in Grenchen last year, but something is different here in Apeldoorn," Lavreisen told nos.nl. 'Especially with the Olympics coming up. I couldn't have asked for a better start to the year. I'm already looking forward to preparing to go even higher, to show what I can do in the summer."
In the men's omnium on Saturday, Ethan Hayter clinched victory in a hotly contested points race finale.
Hayter was tied on points with Denmark's Niklas Larsen, but won on a tiebreaker to secure a fifth European title for Great Britain. Fabio van den Bosch (Belgium) led the points race but fell to third.
Earlier in the evening, Lotte Kopecky won consecutive gold medals in the women's points and elimination races.
Kopecky finished ahead of Norway's Anita Stenberg and Jarmila Machakova (Czech Republic) in the points race, while Lee-Lynn Teutenberg (Germany) took silver in the elimination race. Jessica Roberts of Great Britain won the bronze medal.
"When I looked at the program, I was not happy that the points race and the elimination race were next to each other," Kopecky said.
"Fortunately, I was able to convince my coach to do both events. To win these two European titles in under 30 minutes made it a very special day."
Great Britain's medal haul included five gold, five silver, and one bronze.
Dan Bingham won the individual pursuit and was part of the men's team pursuit championship team along with Hayter, Charlie Tanfield, Ollie Wood, and Ethan Vernon. Emma Finucane won the women's individual sprint and Katie Marchant won the 500m time trial.
The British women's team won silver medals in the team sprint and team pursuit, Leah Evans won silver in the women's omnium, William Tidball won silver in the men's elimination race, and Tanfield won silver in the individual pursuit.
Germany was runner-up with two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in the women's team sprint and men's Madison.
Great Britain's results are a strong indicator that they will defend their record at the next Olympics.
