Portico meter chooses red and white instead of historic yellow and green animal colors

Porti's return as title sponsor in 2024 led many to expect a return of the prominent yellow and green animal print kits of the 1990s. However, a rebranding from the Italian appliance manufacturer and continued sponsorship from Kometa resulted in a simpler design for the kit.

Portico Meter revealed the new colors in a video of a young boy wearing the original yellow and green jersey, dreaming of racing for Team Porti. Team managers Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso also showed off the new 2024 kit.

The team claims that the animal print design is used "more subtly" in the 2024 kit, but is very hard to see on the white jersey.

Polti-Kometa chose red shorts and a white jersey with the Polti logo in red blocks on the chest and the Kometa logo in green blocks just below. Another sponsor, Visit Malta, is also on the front of the jersey, and former title sponsor Eolo is on the sleeve along with coffee brand Solo Caffè Monorigine.

The 2024 racing kit was made by Spanish brand Gsport after Govic moved to Ineos Grenadiers.

Portico Meter is run by Contador, his brother Francisco, and Basso.

New contracts for 2024 include Matteo Fabro from Bora Hansgrohe, Paul Double from Human Powered Health in England, and Honatan Restrepo from Gianni Savio's GW Shimano Sidarmec team. Lorenzo Fortunato has moved to Astana Kazakstan, while Giro d'Italia stage winner Mattia Vice is once again part of the team, along with his brother Davide.

The pro team will once again be looking for wild cards to the Giro d'Italia and other major races.
