Beulah Hansgrohe sends Hindley and Vlasov to the 2024 Tour de France.

Bora-Hansgrohe has announced that it will aim for the 2024 Tour de France with Primos Roglic as sole leader and Jai Hindley and Alexandre Vlasov in key support roles.

Upon his arrival in Bora-Hansgrohe, Roglic increased the team's ambitions for July, with the ultimate goal of winning the overall. The Slovenian's season, and that of his new team, will be focused on the Tour.

"I will aim for my highest level for the Tour de France," Roglic told reporters at the team's media day in Mallorca on Wednesday.

Roglic's 2024 season will begin in March after a high altitude camp. Early in the season, Roglic and his new teammates will be learning from each other and building a team that will work well for the Tour.

"It's definitely a big change for me, a completely different color," he joked of his move from Jumbo Visma to Bora Hansgrohe.

"New friends, new things, and new challenges await me. After so many years with the Jumbo-Visma team, the move to Bora-Hansgrohe is a very welcome one for me. I look forward to practicing more with everyone and meeting and talking with everyone.

"I am excited about the new things we will be doing together. We are going to push each other and create some great memories and great stories together.

Roglič finished second in the 2020 Tour de France, losing the yellow jersey to compatriot Tadej Pogačar on the final day; the 34-year-old Roglič has won the Vuelta a España three times and the Giro d'Italia in 2023. With only the Tour remaining, Roglic's Grand Tour experience has him confident of victory in the July 21 race in Nice.

"I'm confident. All I have to do is execute. Results are results and we just have to do our best."

Asked how he would beat former teammate Jonas Vingegaard, Roglic replied: "You have to be better than him. I can talk a lot, but at the end of the day, you just have to get in front and score goals.

Rolf Aldag, performance manager at Bora-Hansgrohe, spoke about strategy and a long list of riders.

He confirmed that Roglic and the team have not yet decided whether to ride Paris-Nice or Tirreno-Adriatico, and hinted at a limited race program, as the Tour de France is the biggest end goal.

"We have a single leadership strategy: logrich. But we also need tactical options," Aldag said of the decision to use both Hindley and Vlasov in the Tour, rather than leading one or the other in the Giro.

"We can't fool the world by saying we have six leaders. We have common goals. But we are going to give Jai and Alex a chance in other races."

"We are underdogs, but so was the 2022 Giro. We are not expected to control the race.

In addition to 2022 Giro winner Hindley and Vlasov, Ardagh has suggested that Matteo Sobrero will be in the Tour, while Nico Denz and Danny van Poppel are candidates to ride for Roglic on the flat.

Daníel Martínez and Lennard Kämna's participation depends on their recovery from fatigue from the Giro d'Italia in May.

"The Tour has a long list of climbs to support and various tactical opportunities. It's going to be a hectic and stressful start, so we have to be ready," Aldag said, adding that newcomer Sam Welsford will be looking for a sprint victory in the Giro.

"We also have big ambitions in the Giro, like Dani Martinez and Sam Welsford. There are probably eight sprints to take the pressure off the teams early on, and we have multiple goals for 2024."
