With a savings of around £200 (more on this in detail below), it's much cheaper than I - or any of my colleagues - have seen it somewhere online. If you don't trust our collective memories, I don't blame you, but according to the price checker Camelcamelcamel (I don't know why they called it),
Phoenix 7 (in all its 3 size guises) is a truly incredible piece of kit, and also a great way to get the most out of it. Of course, it is not only for cycling, but it is far from it. This is a true 24-7 fitness tracker that tracks dozens (no, hundreds) of different sports. You can even create your own, as I have done for bikejoring with my dog! There's all the bells and whistles in Garmin's arsenal, including Garmin Pay, spotify and storage integration, multi-band GPS, and a complete suite of navigation features such as barometric altimeters. There are also optical heart rate sensors and related health and fitness indicators such as VO2max and Pulse Rate.
And we get to solar charging, which does not have its drawbacks. I've spent time using both the Epix and Fenix7Solar, but the solar panels offer an extra 3-4 days of battery life (the Epix lasted 7-10 days on average and the Fenix lasted about 10-14 days in mixed use). However, the non-solar Epix display had a much better contrast. If you do not mind charging and you get a similar price, bear it in mind.
I would also like to provide some context around the price, to clarify. Amazon's retail price is set at £779.99, suggesting a savings of £240. However, the same watch from Garmin sells for £739.99 (here). The price of £539.99 is still the best we've ever seen, but we can't get around that, but the discount isn't 30% advertised.
We're also shopping in a specific niche here. Obviously, if you're not buying a full-featured smartwatch at this price, spending more than half on a smartwatch is probably not the case... Clever but if you're looking for a new smartwatch and you're looking for something that Garmin has to offer, with the exception of the new AMOLED screen and torch features on the Fenix7Pro launched this year
Update: After some further trolling on your behalf, it's clear that in addition to the Fenix7X, the standard Fenix7 and 7S are now It has a 30% discount in the UK.
We checked in the price tracker software and - full disclosure here - these 2 models are not always low prices, but quite close. The Fenix7 is the 'standard' model in the Fenix range, but still absolutely packed with multi-sport functionality and all the biometric data you can swing the bar at, and the 7S is almost the same as the standard 7, but to be in a slightly smaller package, it is suitable for those whose wrists are dainty.
The same RRP ploy is playing with these models too - the RRP for both listed on Amazon is higher than they retail on Garmin sites, but the price is still low enough to make up the deal in our book.
I also apologise to anyone reading this from outside the UK. As far as we can find, at the time of writing, there is no such similar deal on Fenix7beyond The British shores. We will absolutely keep our eyes peeled, but for now, here is a live price tracker for all the various Fenix7 and Fenix7Pro models.
