Kaitlin Armstrong, a woman accused of fatally shooting professional cyclist Moriah Wilson, tried to escape custody of Travis County corrections officers on Wednesday.
Armstrong's murder trial has been postponed from the scheduled 6.26 am to 4 months and is currently scheduled to take place at 10.30 am.
According to Austin KXAN's report, a Sheriff's office spokeswoman confirmed that Armstrong ran from a correctional officer while leaving the medical office building on Wednesday.
KXAN also reported that the correction officer "did not lose sight of Armstrong during the chase" and "after about 10 minutes, the officer caught up with her and detained her."
Armstrong is accused of first-degree murder in connection with Wilson's death in East Austin, Texas, in 2022/5/11.
After a 43-day escape hunt, authorities found Armstrong and arrested him in a Santa Teresa Beach hostel in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, in 2022 at 6.29 AM.
Armstrong was deported and returned to the United States in 2022/7/2, then extradited to the Travis County Jail in Austin in 2022/7/5.
She is being held at the Travis County Jail in Austin, with a bond set at3350 million. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
