The Australian BikeExchange-Jayco WorldTour team will become Team Jayco AlUla starting in 2023, with Al Ula Resort & Cultural Spot in Saudi Arabia as title sponsor for both the men's and women's teams. The new sponsorship will last until December 2025.
Team owner Jerry Ryan has decided to fund the teams for at least the next three seasons, with 2023 being the 12th year. First sponsor is Australian recreational vehicle manufacturer Jayco, replacing BikeExchange, and second title sponsor is AlUla.
The team will unveil its new racing colors on January 1 and will continue to race on Giant bikes.
Team Jayco AlUla will make its 2023 debut at the Citroen Bayklitz in the New Year, followed by the Australian Road Championship and then the Tour Down Under.
The team will consist of 30 men in 2023, including Michael Matthews, sprinter Dylan Groenewegen, Grand Tour contender Simon Yates, and Luke Durbridge. Newcomers include Ireland's Eddie Dunbar, Australia's Quick Blake, Italian veteran Alessandro De Marchi, and Italian national champion Filippo Zana.
The women's team includes Tennielle Campbell, Urschka Zigato, and Alexandra Manley, while Amanda Spratt has moved to Trek Segafredo. Joining them from Trek-Segafredo were Italian Letizia Paternoster, American Kristen Faulkner, and Ruby Roseman Gannon.
Retired Spanish racer Rafael Valls joins the men's team, while Briton Megan Chard and Canadian Sean Clark join the women's team.
Longtime sport director Matt White has been given a broader role as high performance and racing director for both the men's and women's teams.
"We are very pleased to bring you the news that AlUla, an official sponsor of GreenEDGE Cycling in 2022, will become an important naming rights partner in 2023," said Gerry Ryan.
"This new commitment will allow the organization to continue its amazing journey in the professional cycling world and to have even greater goals and ambitions for the future.
"For me, it is very special that the team will return to race in Australia in January and that the Tour Down Under will return as an international event at the World Tour level... As we enter our 12th season, it is a great way to show the world our new name and image. It will be a great moment to showcase our new name and image to the world as we enter our twelfth season."
The team's first race in Australia will be the Tour Down Under.
