Look Introduces New 765 Optimum Endurance Road Bike

French manufacturer Look has introduced the 765 Optimum, an endurance-focused road bike.

The Optimum is positioned as an endurance road bike, continuing the evolution of the 765 series of road bikes, redesigned to balance stiffness and flexibility while providing a less aggressive rider fit.

Utilizing Look's expertise in carbon fiber manufacturing, the 765 features ultra-high strength carbon fiber compounds and endurance-specific carbon fiber layups that dampen vibration more efficiently than traditional materials.

Look claims that the new 3D Wave carbon fiber frameset tubing is 20% more compliant than the previous model. The 765 Optimum also features a threaded T47 bottom bracket standard for reliable and efficient power transfer.

"The new 765 Optimum is the ideal bike for your daily ride as well as your next sporting challenge," claims Frederic Caron, product manager at Look. Designed in France by a team of passionate engineers, the bike combines stiffness and flexibility to allow endurance cyclists to fully enjoy their long distance rides."

According to Luc, the frame and fork together weigh 1.4 kg, and the frame accommodates a maximum tire width of 34 mm, allowing riders to mount wider road or light gravel tires for added comfort and versatility.

Maintenance is also a consideration, with cables entering the frame from under the handlebars. This means that the handlebar and LS3 stem can be removed without disconnecting the hydraulic brake hoses. The frame is also compatible with Look Fenders for protection in wet weather and will be available as a stand-alone product starting in early 2023.

The 765 Optimum will be available in five sizes, from XS to XL. Five assembly options will be available for the complete bike, and two will be available as framesets.

Three Shimano equipped bikes will be available from the five complete bike options: 11-speed Ultegra Mechanical, 12-speed 105 Di2, and 12-speed Ultegra Di2. One Campagnolo Cross and one Sram Rival eTap. All complete bikes will come with a 2x chainset.

The two framesets are available in "Metallic True Blood Satin" or "Black Satin," with prices starting at $2,400/€2,150.

Complete bikes will start at $4,300/€3,790 for the satin black Shimano Ultegra 11-speed mechanical model and $7,300/€6,290 for the charcoal metallic satin Shimano Ultegra 12-speed Di2 model. The Sram Rival ETAP AXS-equipped model in chameleon green blue is $5500/€4690, and the Campagnolo 12-speed Chorus-equipped model, also in chameleon green blue, is $4600/€3990.
