Wout Van Aert has announced that his cyclocross calendar will begin in early December. His January schedule and his participation in the UCI Cyclocross World Championships on February 5 have not yet been confirmed.

Last week, the media in Flanders suggested that Van Aert would kick off his cyclocross campaign at the X2O Trofee Kortrijk-Urban Cross on Saturday, November 26 and race through the World Championships in early February. However, Jumbo-Visma announced that it would run only seven races through the end of 2022, beginning with the Antwerp World Cup race on December 4.

This will delay the expected showdown with world champions Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin Deceuninck).

Pidcock will make his debut this weekend at the Merc Plus Superprestige, while van der Poel will debut at the World Cup in Hulst on November 27.

The Big 3 showdown is expected to finally come to fruition at the World Cup race in Dublin on December 11.

Jumbo-Visma will have its official launch in Amsterdam on December 22. Van Aert will return to cyclocross racing the following day at the Exact Cross Mol - Zilvermeercross, followed by the UCI World Cup in Gavere on December 26, the Heusden-Zolder and Diegem on December 27 and 28 respectively.
