Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) added another title to her long list of accomplishments by winning the elite women's national title at the Dutch Gravel Championships in Epee on Saturday.
Vos attacked midway through the 70km race and won solo.
Competing in the gravel national championships was a last-minute decision for Vos, who said it fit well with her preparation for the cyclocross season.
World cyclocross champion Marianne Vos will begin her cyclocross campaign on Tuesday, October 25 in Kiremko Nacht van Woerden.
She competed in the UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong, Australia at the end of September and then took some time off.
She did not compete in the first UCI Gravel World Championships in Veneto in October, which was won by Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (France).
Vos won the Cyclocross World Championships in Arkansas in January for the eighth time, making his debut in the Jumbo-Visma rainbow jersey.
Vos, who has had the slowest start to the cyclocross season, will also compete in the Cyclocross World Cup Maasmechelen on October 30 and the European Cyclocross Championships in Namur on November 5.
"The level is high, as the last few weeks have proven. The competition is fierce. We want to perform well, especially considering the European Championships in Namur on November 5," Voss said.
She will also compete in the World Cup GP Beekse Bergen in the Netherlands on November 13, the Superprestige Marksplus on November 19, and the World Cup Oberlaise on November 20.
"The course (of GP Beekse Bergen) is a new cross on the calendar, so it's an unknown course for everyone. I'm looking forward to this race. I'm looking forward to this race, it's very special to race a World Cup race in the Netherlands. I'm looking forward to this race, especially because I get to start in the rainbow jersey."
