"Yes, I have been treated very well these past few weeks. I don't have any races scheduled this weekend, but I will be out in the field in a week to chase my fourth rainbow jersey of the season. #gravellife #dreambigorgohome," Phelan-Prevot said.
Ferrand-Prevot currently holds the world titles in elite women's XCC short track, XCO cross country (won in Les Gets, France in late August), and XCM marathon (won in Hazerslev, Denmark in mid-September). She is the first person to win all three titles in the same season.
Phelan-Prevot is not accustomed to holding world titles at the same time. She has worn the rainbow jersey in road racing, mountain biking, and cyclocross.
She won the elite women's road race world title in Ponferrada in 2014, the XCO cross-country world title in Vallnord in 2015, and the cyclo-cross world title in Tabor in 2015, all three simultaneously, in the 2014-2015 season at age 23. She made history by becoming the first cyclist to hold world titles in all three disciplines at the same time.
She won a total of nine individual elite world titles during her illustrious career, including four XCO cross-country titles (2015, 2019, 2020, 2022), two XCM marathon titles (2019, 2022), one XCC short track title (2022) are also included.
Additionally, she was part of the French national team that won world titles in the team relay in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
She was diagnosed with double iliac artery intimal fibrosis in November 2018 and underwent two separate surgeries in 2019 and 2020 to fully recover.
Ferran Prevot competed in Rabobank road races from 2012 to 2016 and was a member of Canyon SRAM from 2017 to the end of 2020. In 2021, when she joined BMC in anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics, she made the decision to stop racing road and cyclo-cross and compete exclusively in mountain biking.
