Australia's Michael Stoller and the Netherlands' Martin Tusfeld have both signed two-year contract extensions with the WorldTour's Sunweb, the team announced.

Stoller joined the team in 2018 from Mitchelton Scott's feeder team (now Mitchelton Bike Exchange) and finished fifth overall at that year's Tour de Yorkshire and fifth in GC at the following Tour of Slovenia. He was then selected for and completed his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España.

"I've had a good relationship with the team for the past two years and I'm happy to extend my contract," Stoller said on Sunweb's website. The team has a plan for my development, and it's an approach that suits me. The team has a plan for my growth, and it's an approach that suits me.

"Working closely with the team in this way is good for me and I look forward to continuing this approach in the coming years," the 22-year-old said.

Tusfeldt also arrived in Sunweb in 2018 after spending the previous season with Pro Continental team Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij.

Like Storer, the 25-year-old Tasveld also raced the Vuelta last season and is currently riding his second career Grand Tour. In between, however, he crashed badly on the opening stage of Paris-Nice in March, breaking his jaw and forcing him to rest until he returns to racing at the Criterium du Dauphiné in June.

"After the accident in March, I knew I was going to be out for a long time, I knew I would be out for a long time after my accident in March," Tasveld said. The team immediately said they were willing to sign me to a new contract.

"I feel at home and in the right place with the team, and I want to be an important part of the team, not only in the Vuelta, but in the years to come.

Sunweb coach Marc Lief said he was very happy to have both players stay.

"Martin had a really difficult year after his crash in Paris-Nice, but he has come back hard," Lief said. We have a lot of faith in his ability as a rider and we are happy to extend his contract."

Looking ahead, Rief said his goal is for Tasveld to continue riding to support the team leader in Grand Tours and week-long races.

"We will also focus on his overall development, as we feel he still has a lot of potential, both in climbing and in time trials."

In Stohler's case, Lief said that despite being in his second year with the team, the team still sees him as a young rider with "great talent and a lot of potential."

"We will be working hard to help him develop, not only with Michael's physical level and characteristics, but with experts in cycling in general. We believe that his potential will come to fruition in the years to come when he is with us," Leaf said.
