Mikel Iturria (Euskadi Murias) won the 11th stage of the Vuelta a España with a solo breakaway to the finish line on Urdax Danzalinea. The Spaniard attacked the breakaway with 25km to go and held off the rest of the pack to take the glorious victory.
Iturria was part of a 14-rider breakaway near the start of the 180km stage from Saint-Palle to Uludax. Iturria finished the stage six seconds ahead of second-place finishers Jonathan Lastra (Caja Rural) and Lawson Craddock (EF Education First).
After the remnants of the first breakaway group crossed the line, the main group finished nearly 20 minutes behind.
Primoš Roglic (Jumbo Visma) maintained his overall lead, 1:52 ahead of Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) and 2:11 ahead of Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana).
