Roeder raced at the continental and elite amateur level, signing with Mountain Khakis in 2009 and as a French amateur for the next two seasons.

Roeder signed with Team Exergy in 2012, then switched back to the amateur level with CashCall [now Elevate-KHS], winning stages at the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic and the 2013 USA Cycling Elite Amateur Time Trial Championship.

He signed with the Italian Continental team Amore & Vita in 2014, but was suspended for eight months due to a positive test for a banned substance he blamed on appetite suppressants.

He returned to Amore & Vita in 2015, but retired later that year and eventually became an EMT. The cause of his death has not been revealed.

Cycling News offers its deepest condolences to Roeder's friends and family.
