Team Ineos has announced contract renewals for Ben Swift and Eddie Dunbar.

Swift, who returned to the British national team this season after two years with UAE Team Emirates, will remain with the team through 2021, while Dunbar, who joined in late 2018, has agreed to a three-year deal.

This season has been a mental turning point for the 31-year-old Swift, who suffered a ruptured spleen in a training crash early in the season and recovered from it.

"I feel like I've found a new enthusiasm and motivation for the sport this year.

"I think it's because of the team and my drive this year. When you're really happy somewhere and the team environment suits you, like I am here, you can get the best out of yourself."

Swift spent eight seasons with then-Team Sky before heading to UAE Team Emirates in 2017. Career highlights include multiple stage wins in World Tour races, the Tour of California, Tour de Pollogne, Vuelta al País Vasco, Tour de Romandie, and Tour Down Under.

The Yorkshireman, who is set to lead Great Britain in this year's World Championships, has also been on the podium twice in Milan-San Remo. This year he won the British national championship road race for the eighth time.

Young Irishman Eddie Dunbar has extended his contract with Team Ineos for another three years; the 23-year-old joined the team after Aqua Blue Sports closed up store before the 2018 season ended.

After signing with the team in mid-September, Dunbar helped Gianni Moscon win the Coppa Agostoni, Giro della Toscana, and Tour of the Wide West.

This season, he finished third in the Giro's 12th stage at Pinheiro, and also made the road and time trial podiums at the Tour de Yorkshire and the Irish championships.

"It was an emotional moment when I knew I was here on a three-year contract, learning from the best riders in the world," Dunbar said in a Team Ineos statement. I am very happy to have the opportunity to grow in this atmosphere," Dunbar said in a Team Ineos statement.

In addition to various podium finishes, Dunbar made his Grand Tour debut this season, finishing 22nd in the Giro d'Italia.

He is part of the young movement in Team Ineos, racing alongside young talents like Ivan Sosa, Pavel Sivakov, Tao Geoghegan Hart, and Tour de France winner Egan Bernal.

"There are a lot of young guys on the team and they have all been impressive this year, with Pavel winning the Giro, Egan the Tour de France, and Chris (Lawless) the Tour de Yorkshire. There were a lot of standout performances from the young riders, which is very positive for the future."

Team Ineos has already decided to renew the contracts of Owain Doull and Chris Lawless until the end of 2021 and to add Giro d'Italia winner Richard Karapas from Movistar. Diego Rosa will join Nairo Quintana of Arkea Samsic.
