Jules Jensen re-signs with Mitchelton Scott for 2020

Chris Eur Jensen will enter his fifth season with the Australian WorldTour next year after extending his contract with Mitchelton-Scott until the end of 2021.

The affable Dane, born in Kilmacanogue, County Wicklow, Ireland, said it is exciting to be part of a team that pursues victory in both Grand Tours and Classics.

"In the four years I've been here, Mitchelton-Scott has grown into an overall team that not only delivers big GC results, but also one-day results. In the four years I've been here, Mitchelton Scott has grown into an overall team that not only delivers big results in GC, but also in One-Day.

"The last four years have been exactly what I imagined the team would be before I joined. They have met all my expectations and I really like the team, both on a personal and sporting level."

." As a reliable domestique, he feels he has developed into the type of rider he had in mind.

Jules-Jensen joined Mitchelton-Scott from the now-defunct Tinkoff-Saxo team and won the Tour of Denmark overall class and national time trial titles in his final season with the team in 2015. 2018 saw Jules-Jensen thrilled with a stage win at the Tour de Suisse.

"Those were very important victories in my career," he said at the time, in relation to his national title and Tour of Denmark win, "but I have never crossed the finish line first."

Jules Jensen, however, is content to spend most of his time on the team leader's side, both in the Grand Tour and the One Day Classic.

"Chris is someone who has really grown as a leader of this organization and team since he joined in 2016," said head sport director Matt White. 'He's extremely reliable, versatile, and as we've seen over the last few years, he's a player we can take anywhere on the calendar.'

"He has become an integral part of our engine room to achieve our goals, especially in the stage races.

"We are one of the few teams that still have most of the same staff as when we started eight years ago, which makes a big difference and creates a great atmosphere," added Jules Jensen.

"I can't imagine being happier. I want to be better at what I do and have more responsibility as a domestique in the team."
