British rider James Shaw spent last season at the continental level with British national team Swift Carbon Pro Racing before signing a one-year contract with Danish pro-continental level team Rewal Readiness through 2020.
After becoming a stagiaire for Lotto Soudal at the end of the 2016 season and running for the team's under-23 feeder team, Shaw spent the next two seasons on the Belgian World Tour, but did not stay for 2019.
"I was young when I joined Lotto Soudal and it didn't go well, but I can definitely apply what I learned there to my career," Shaw told the Rewal Readiness website.
"There are a lot of guys on next year's team who have professional experience on both the World Tour and Pro Continental, and I think if we put together everything we learned, we can work very well as one team."
Shaw's year at the continental level included the Tour of Britain, the Tour de Yorkshire, where he finished fifth overall, and the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic World Tour One Day Race.
"I am very excited to be back at the professional level after a year at the continental level. I feel very motivated and positive about my future at Liwar Redines."
The 2020 lineup includes Norwegian rider Sondre Horst Engel, who has ridden at the World Tour level for IAM and AG2R La Mondiale and will join next season from the Israel Cycling Academy, and former under-23 European time trial champion and two-time Danish elite time trial champion Rasmus Quade is also included.
"Now I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks and at training camp in January. I'm looking forward to great results this season, with great morale and team spirit amongst the riders and staff."
In terms of where such results might come from, Shaw admitted that returning to a higher level for the new season will bring a change of scenery, but that he will try to make good use of his climbing ability.
"It's hard to put a specific definition on it because I keep changing a little bit every year," he said. But I definitely like the hills and the little GC races."
