Travis McCabe is close to signing a contract with the Israel Cycling Academy for 2020.
Neither McCabe nor the team confirmed the deal, but Cycling News understands that the team will make an official announcement in the next few days.
McCabe spent two years with United Healthcare, one year with Holowesko Citadel, and three seasons with Team Smart Stop before moving to Floyd Pro Cycling this year, where he is a two-time US criterium champion.
The 30-year-old American fastman has nine professional wins, including four stages at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, three stages at the Tour de Langkawi, one stage at the Colorado Classic, and one stage at the Herald Sun Tour. McCabe also finished second to Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) in the first stage of this year's Tour of California.
Cycling News reported earlier this week that McCabe is in talks with a WorldTour team following news of Floyd's 2020 closure, but the rider and team have yet to reach an agreement.
The Israel Cycling Academy has been racing at the Pro Continental level for the past three seasons, but will make the jump to the World Tour next year after acquiring Katusha Alpecin's World Tour license and some of the team's riders. The Israeli team also signed German sprinter Andre Greipel and Dan Martin of Classical and GC for next year.
