BMC has announced a recall of 2018 and 2019 models of Teammachine SLR01 Disc bikes. The company states that there is a technical issue with the fork that could cause the steerer tube to crack or break, which could result in a crash or injury.
Customers should take their Teammachine SLR01 Disc bike to a BMC dealer to see if the fork needs to be replaced.
"To protect users and maintain the brand's own strict quality standards, BMC Switzerland requests that you do not ride these bikes and bring them to a BMC dealer for a safety inspection," the company said in a press release.
The affected bikes were first sold in June 2017, and the exact models of bikes included in the recall are as follows: 2020 model year bikes, Teammachine SLR02 or SLR01 bikes with rim brakes are unaffected; the recall does not affect the 2020 model year bikes, or the Teammachine SLR02 or SLR01 bikes with rim brakes.
