The Bora-Hansgrohe team has announced that it will consist of 27 riders for 2020, with 22-year-old neo-pro Patrick Gamper being selected as the final contracted rider for the German WorldTour team.
Peter Sagan, sprinter Pascal Ackermann, Emmanuel Buchmann, and Rafau Mayka will once again lead the team. Newcomers include talented German stage racer Leonard Kemna of Team Sunweb, Italian climber Matteo Fabro of Katusha-Alpecin, and neo-professionals Ide Schelling, Martin Lars, and Gamper.
Also on the roster are Daniel Oss, veterans Markus Burghardt, Oscar Gatto, Cesare Benedetti, Jay McCarthy, Lukas Pestlberger, Maximilian Schachmann, and Juraj Sagan.
Last week, Beulah Hansgrohe announced that Sam Bennett is leaving the team after a legal battle. The Irish sprinter is expected to move to Deceuninck Quickstep for 2020.
Peter Sagan has already announced that he will compete in the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France in 2020 after a spring classics campaign. Bora-Hansgrohe will have to reconcile Sagan and Ackermann's ambitions in the Tour de France sprint with Buchmann's hopes of repeating or bettering his fourth place overall finish last July.
Gamper is the last confirmed Bora-Hansgrohe athlete to register.
"The move to the World Tour was a wonderful surprise for me. I have immense respect for the work that lies ahead," Gamper said.
"It will be a different experience to be on the World Tour. But with Bora-Hansgrohe, one of the top teams in the peloton, the transition to this new level of racing will be smooth. I am very much looking forward to discovering the environment surrounding the team."
Team manager Ralf Denk says: "Patrick is a young rider with good qualities, especially as a ruler on the flat. He will help to strengthen the sprint train and will primarily serve as a helper within the team."
"Of course we also aim to develop him further and improve his strengths. We will provide him with the time he needs to gain experience, and that will take place in either of the Belgian races. As an Austrian, he will be able to integrate into the team very quickly.
