The Arkea Samsic organization will form a women's team in 2020, in addition to a men's professional continental team. Alcare Samsic sponsored US Vern's amateur women's team in 2019.
Three players, including 21-year-old Coupe de France winner Lucie Genier, 18-year-old Amandine Fouquenet, and Coralie Oudin, 24, will join the professional team. They will also be joined by three members of the Charente-Maritime team, Anaïs Morichon, Pauline Allan, and Gladys Verhulst, the 2018 junior national champion and winner of this year's La Pictet-Charentes.
Moroccan road race champion Fatima Zahra El Hayani, French junior road race champion Lea Curinier (Team Femin Auvergne-Rhone-Alps), 40-year-old duathlon world champion Sandra Levenez, and former French junior national champion Typhaine Laurance round out the team.
News of the team's formation was drowned out in September by the addition of Nairo Quintana to the men's team. On September 2, coach Emmanuel Hubert announced the formation of a team based in Brousse (Ile-et-Vilaine).
"It will be done slowly because it was a little late to make it, but it will be made," Hubert said in September. Hubert said in September, "It's not at the world tour level, but I expect it to be at the highest French level."
