Danish time trial specialist Matthias Norsgaard can't wait to get started with his new team, the Spanish WorldTour team Movistar, after moving from the Danish Pro Continental team Rewaal Redines.
"It's incredible to reach the top of the sport," he said. It's one thing to be a pro, but I've always wanted to go higher. I'm not a very winning rider, so I didn't know if it was possible this year, but I'm happy to have this opportunity and for Rewal to break my contract."
"I'm very happy to be here.
This season, Norsgaard won the opening stage of the Tour de l'Avenir and won the Duo Normand with teammate Rasmus Quard.
"It's very exciting," Norsgaard said. It's very exciting," Norsgaard said. I don't know exactly what kind of world I'm going to be entering. I don't know which way it's going to go, but I'm looking forward to it."
According to Norsgaard, Movistar signed him for the team leading the pack.
"The plan is to use my power to pull ahead. That's what I'm good at and that's what I've focused on with Rewire Readiness."
"I don't speak a word of Spanish," admitted the 22-year-old from Girona, Spain. I live there, but as a professional cyclist I'm rarely at home, and my friends speak Danish or English. But I want to learn, and I want to prove that I want to fit in with my new team.
"My first year as a pro at Liwaard Readiness was arguably the most important year of my relatively short career so far.
"I had a great time at Liwaal Readiness. The most unforgettable aspect of my years at Rewal was the camaraderie. It's hard to put into words how great this team spirit is.
