The Movistar team has announced the signing of Danish rider Matthias Norsgaard, who won the opening stage of this year's Tour de Lavenir, and the renewal of Spanish rider Edu Prades. [22-year-old Norsgaard is over two meters tall and is a talented rider who finished third at the U23 Time Trial World Championships in Innsbruck last year and fourth in Yorkshire this season.
His time trial ability helped him win a stage at the Tour de Lavenir on a 30km solo attack from a breakaway group. He moved to Movistar from L'Ewald Readiness Pro Continental.
Norsgaard is the 12th new rider for Movistar this season and the eighth under 23, along with Gabriel Caray, Inigo Elosegui, Juan Diego Alba, Einel Rubio, Johan Jacobs, Juli Holman, and Matteo Jorgenson.
Prades, 32, earned his new contract by winning the overall at the Vuelta a Aragon. He also won a stage this season. Prior to that, Prades won the overall at the Tour of Norway and Tour of Turkey in 2018 while with Euskaltel Murias.
