Cofidis returns to the World Tour for the first time since 2009 and has finalized his roster for the 2020 season.

The French team has added 11 riders for the 2020 campaign. Six of those riders are from the World Tour, led by Deceuninck-QuickStep sprinter Elia Viviani. Joining the Italian rider are Nathan Haas of Katusha-Alpecin, Julien Vermote of Dimension Data, Simone Consonni of UAE Team Emirates, and Viviani's former QuickStep teammate, Fabio Sabatini.

Other new additions include Guillaume Martin of Wanty Gobert, Piet Aregato of Sport Vlaanderen Baloise, Fernando Barcelo of Euskatel Muriath, and Eddie Fine and Attilo Viviani of Neo Pro.

"We have been working hard to attract new talent at the World Tour level to fuel our ambitions," said team director Cedric Vasseur.

"The team will be led by one of the world's best sprinters, Elia Viviani.

"Guillaume Martin, with his consistent margins in stage races, will also be a strong element of the group. In addition, there are a number of French riders in the group, led by Christophe Laporte and Nicolas Ede."

The team also returns Jesus Herrada and his Spanish helper squad, whose 28 riders include riders from eight different countries, including 12 Frenchmen. Herrada scored one of the team's biggest victories last year on stage 6 of the Vuelta a España.

"Cofidis will have Italian riders returning, while the Spanish riders, led by Jesus Herrada, who was one of the best on the circuit last season, will remain," Vassoul said.

"The team also relies on experienced riders like Julien Vermote, Nathan Haas, and Cyril Lemoine. They will be decisive in supporting young talents Fernando Barcelo, Eddy Finet, Victor Lafaye, Emmanuel Morin and Attilio Viviani in their quest for victory."

The team will take a short off-season break before resuming training camp in Calpe in December. From there, the team will begin the season in Australia, Gabon, and Argentina.
