Steven Lammertink is retiring from professional cycling at the age of 25, according to a report in Wielerflits.
The Dutchman began his professional career at the continental level with the Joe Peels team in 2012 before moving to SEG Racing in 2015. In the meantime, he ran for Giant-Shimano at the end of 2014 and for Lot NL-Yumbo as stadiare at the end of 2015.
Lammertink jumped to the WorldTour in 2016 with LottoNL-Jumbo and ran for the Dutch team for two seasons before moving to Pro Continental team Vital Concept-B&B Hotels for the past two years.
In 2019, Lammertink missed a large block of races from June to October, racing for only 19 days; according to Tubantia, Lammertink has been plagued by respiratory problems in recent years and asthma medication has not helped.
Charlotte Becker will leave FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope after one season to join the Arcare women's team, it was announced on social media Wednesday.
The 36-year-old German began her professional career with Equipe Nürnberger Versicherung in 2008 and will bring an experienced hand to her new team. Prior to joining FDJ last season, Becker spent four seasons with Hitech Products, and before that with Wiggle Honda.
"I was immediately inspired by the project, the Arkea Pro Cycling Team," Becker posted on Instagram. 'I want to put all my experience into the young talent that will make up the 2020 team. At the same time, I want to pursue my personal goals on the road and on the track, especially to grab the UCI World Championships in Berlin and hopefully my third Olympics in Tokyo this summer."
[14Andron, the 2006 German time trial champion and 2010 road champion, has won 14 races, including stage wins at the Tour of Chongming Island and Tour of Zhoushan Island in China.
Androni Giocattoli has completed his roster for the 2020 season, adding two finalists for a total of 10 new riders.
The new additions are Luca Pachioni of Neri Sottoli Serre Italia and Luca Chirico, who was with the team in 2018. Pacioni had previously ridden for Androni in 2016 and 2017.
They are joined by newcomers Honatan Restrepo from Manzana Postobon, Nicola Bazioli from Nippo Vini Fantini Faizane, and Simon Perrault from IAM Excelsior, Davide Gabburo from Neri Sottoli, Simone Ravanelli from Bisse Carrera, Mattia Vice from Cycling Team Friuli, Nicola Venchiarti from Cycling Team Friuli and Jefferson Alexander Cepeda from Colombia.
In all, 20 athletes will compete in 2020.
