World Tour team Astana has announced the end of its relationship with bike supplier Argon 18 after three seasons of cooperation.
The end of the 2019 season marked the end of the team's original three-year contract with Argon 18, which began in 2017, but was not extended into 2020.
"The last three seasons have been marked by multiple race victories and the launch of new products developed in collaboration with the team and tested by Astana Pro Team riders on the most demanding World Tour circuits," Argon 18 president and CEO Martin Le Sautour stated in a press release.
Alexandre Vinokurov, Astana's general manager, added, "It is a great pleasure and honor for us to work with Argon 18. We have had three wonderful years together, full of success and high sporting achievements. I would like to thank Argon 18 for their sponsorship, support and contribution to the development of the Astana Pro Team.
"After three years of close cooperation, we part as good friends. I wish Argon 18 all the best in their future endeavors and am confident that their new project will be an even greater success."
Argon 18 is currently a supplier to the German continental level Vorarlberg Santik team as well as to the cycling federations of Australia, Denmark, and Canada.
It is rumored that Astana's bike supplier for 2020 may be the Italian company Wilier, but the team has yet to announce a replacement for Argon 18.
