Sidi Releases SIXTY Shoes to Commemorate Milestone Anniversary

Cycling shoe manufacturer Sidi has unveiled a new model of shoes to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2020.Founded in 1960 by Dino Signori, the Italian company presented Tour de France champion Egan Bernal with a custom gold livery on the new SIXTY.

Bernal was one of the first riders to receive the new model. When Signori visited the company, he presented him with a special edition pair of shoes to celebrate his victory in the 2019 Tour de France.

This was the company's 15th Tour victory and part of an impressive run of results for the 22-year-old, who also won Paris-Nice, Tour de Suisse, and Grand Piedmont overall.

According to Sidi, SIXTY is "more than just a shoe" and is a starting point for expansion and innovation, with the goal of not only celebrating the company's milestones, but also "creating a product with the highest quality standards ever."

The new SIXTY features all the latest technology from Shot and Wire 2 Carbon, but with even less weight: the Tecno-4 closure system uses a single rotor to save weight, but still guarantees accurate closure and quick release at the upper foot. All Tecno-4 components are interchangeable. The toe box is fastened with a secure Velcro strap.

The SIXTY has a newly designed integrated heel to maintain its shape and a reflective insert for safety on the street.

The breathable carbon sole provides increased ventilation when needed, allowing for more power transfer at a lighter weight. Ventilation can be opened or closed depending on the situation. The polyurethane non-slip heel pad is also replaceable.

"A simple, minimalist design that makes this shoe even more aerodynamic, modern, and elegant," says Sidi.

SIXTY is available in white, red, blue, and black, each with a microfiber TechPro upper and vented carbon sole.

The company has provided shoes for numerous champions over the decades, from Miguel Indurain and Laurent Fignon to Bernal, Chris Froome, Peter Sagan, and Vincenzo Nibali.

." SIXTY shoes are meant to pay homage to this illustrious 60-year history, so the focus was on construction, function and shape that synthesize Sidi's evolving journey and provide all the best technology and materials perfectly matched with a modern and attractive design."
