The UCI announced today that it has granted World Tour and Women's World Tour licenses to the Mitchelton Scott men's and women's teams, respectively.
Both teams were omitted from the initial announcement of approved teams released on Tuesday.
"They will be registered as UCI World Team and UCI Women's World Team, respectively, from the 2020 season," the UCI announced. Cofidis is a new addition, and Israel Startup Nation (formerly the Israel Cycling Academy) has taken over Katusha Alpecin's license.
The UCI said it is considering an application for UCI ProTeam (formerly Pro Continental) status from Bingoal-WB. "With regard to the UCI Pro Team, the file of Team Bingoal-WB (tbc - BEL) is still under consideration by the UCI Licensing Committee," the UCI said, "A decision will be issued as soon as possible.
If the application is approved, Bingoal-WB will become the 19th pro team for 2020.
