The Deceuninck-QuickStep team has unveiled its new racewear for the 2020 season.
Deceuninck-QuickStep has traditionally raced in dark blue jerseys and shorts, but the new colors are a balance of white and blue, with the top and shoulders of the jersey in white.
The blue mimics the shape of bib shorts, with the darker color raised on the sides and back of the jersey; it was immediately compared to the Castrama jerseys of the early 90s, but was well received by fans on social media.
The racing wear is made by Belgian brand Vermarc.
"It's totally different from the team's stuff from years past, but really nice. When I first saw it, I thought it would be a cool kit," Evenpoel said through the team after the new colors were unveiled. [The combination of white and blue is beautiful and will definitely stand out from the peloton. The wolf on the chest is great and the sponsors fit perfectly. I can't wait to wear it in my first race and I know the fans will love it. A big thank you to Belmark and the team for making such an amazing and elegant kit!"
The white areas on the upper body and sleeves prominently feature various sponsor logos. National champions Kasper Asgreen, Sam Bennett, Ian Garrison, Fabio Jacobsen, Bob Jungels, and Mikhail Morkov will wear different jerseys that show their national identity.
According to Deceuninck-QuickStep, the new racing kits will be available in their web store starting in January.
Deceuninck-QuickStep recorded a total of 68 wins in the 2019 season, including Milan-San Remo, Paris-Roubaix, and eight Grand Tour stages, and topped the UCI World Tour team rankings for the second consecutive year.
Deceuninck-QuickStep moved Gilbert to Lotto-Soudal, Viviani to Cofidis, and Mas to Movistar in 2020, but the Belgian team remains strong, lowering its average age and bringing in a new wave of talent. Alaphilippe agreed to a two-year contract extension, and Bennett was tapped to replace Viviani.
Evenpoel has become the new face of the team after only one season as a professional. He won the European time trial title at Clasica San Sebastian and finished second in the time trial at the World Championships. He is under contract until 2023.
