Deceuninck-QuickStep has confirmed Julien Alaphilippe's early season plans. The Frenchman plans to repeat his winning formula from 2019 by starting next season at the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina at the end of January and heading north for the Tour Colombia 2.1 in February.
Last season, Alaphilippe earned two stage wins and the race lead in San Juan, and took stage 5 and the points jersey in Colombia.
"This season has gotten off to a great start with the Vuelta a San Juan and the Tour Colombia. I had a great start to the season at the Vuelta a San Juan and the Tour Colombia. I am really happy to start the season again in this beautiful country and I will do my best to achieve good results," said Alaphilippe.
The Frenchman was awarded the Velo d'Or for a fantastic 2019 season that included 12 wins, including two stages of Strade Bianche, Milan-San Remo, Flèche-Wallonne, and the Tour de France, 14 Tour de France race leads, and fifth place overall.
