The Movistar team will end its 37-year partnership with Campagnolo and will race with SRAM components through 2021.
Spanish teams competing in both the men's and women's World Tours will continue to use Canyon bikes but will be equipped with SRAM components, including Quark power meters and Zipp wheels.
"For the first time in 37 years, we are switching to SRAM and Zipp," said team manager Eusebio Unzué.
"This is a historic change and not to be taken lightly, but we see it as a great opportunity to partner with the technology leader in drivetrain and wheels.
The entire team will be equipped with SRAM's 12-speed wireless RED eTap AXS HRD groupset; SRAM says the women's team will primarily use 48/35 chainrings and the men's team 50/37, with both teams preferring 10-33 cassettes.
"We are looking forward to racing with the new AXS gear range. The idea of smaller steps between gears should be beneficial for riders like me who need consistent cadence in time trials and climbs."
Along with the SRAM groupset, the Movistar team has the entire line of Zipp Firecrest and NSW carbon wheels and Quarq power meters at their disposal.
Alejandro Valverde said, "I have been very interested in SRAM and Zipp for many years. The components and technology, the support, and the way they listen to their riders is unique and impressive."
Movistar will be one of two men's WorldTour teams SRAM will supply for the 2020 season. With Cofidis Solutions Credit stepping up to the WorldTour, Campagnolo maintains the status quo of three teams, while Shimano retains the majority with 14 teams using its components.
