Team Ineos will have at least two Grand Tour winners on its roster for the 2020 Tour Colombia 2.1 stage race in February, Tour de France champion Egan Bernal and 2019 Giro d'Italia champion Richard Carapas ...

The Colombian race announced today that Carapaz, 26, will be part of the Team Ineos roster for the six-day race, which will take place February 11-16. Bernal previously announced plans to compete in this year's Tour of his home country.

Karapas spent four years with Movistar in Spain before moving to the powerful British team. He grew up as a mountain helper for Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde and had his breakthrough at last year's Giro. [His start in Colombia is similar to his last three seasons with Movistar, where he started things off at the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina and then raced in Colombia.

Ineos will send a team to the World Tour opener at the Tour Down Under in January, but the British team is not in the Argentine lineup.

Race also announced Wednesday that Colombia's Honatan Restrepo will lead the Androni Giacatori team. Others include Sebastian Henao, Ivan Sosa, and Honatan Narvaez of Team Ineos; Julian Alaphilippe, Bob Jungels, and Arabaro Hodeg of Detunink Quickstep; Daniel Martinez and Sergio Iguita of EF Education First and Fabio Al, Fernando Gaviria, and Jan Polancu of UAE Team Emirates, and Winner Anacona of Alcare Samsic have already been announced.

The six-day race will start on Tuesday, February 11 with a 16.7 km individual time trial in Tunja. Stage 2 is 152.4 km from Pipa to Duitama, which will be the starting point for the 177.7 km third stage that will finish in Sogamoso. Stage 4 is 168.6 km from Pipa to Santa Rosa de Viterbo, followed by 175 km from Pipa to Zipaquira. The race concludes on Sunday, February 16 with a final 182.6 km stage from Zipaquira to the climb of the Alto del Berhon.
