Mark Cavendish's spring racing program is set.

Mark Cavendish's spring 2020 race schedule has been finalized.

Currently training in Spain with his new Bahrain McLaren team, Cavendish will also race the Tour of Oman and the UAE Tour before returning to Europe.

Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo are also on the 34-year-old's racing schedule.

Bahrain McLaren told Cycling News that Cavendish could then head to the Belgian cobbled classics.

After that, Cavendish will be fit and ready for the Tour de France in July, where he will chase down Eddy Merckx's record of 34 stage wins. Cavendish now has 30 wins, with his last victory coming in 2016.

Cavendish spent four seasons with Team Dimension Data before moving to Bahrain McLaren in 2020. He was controversially omitted from the Tour de France selection last summer and has suffered the effects of the debilitating Epstein-Barr virus in recent years.

Today, Bahrain McLaren is healthy and has several goals in mind.

With his move to Bahrain McLaren, Cavendish will be paired with Rod Ellingworth; the two worked together at British Cycling and Team Sky in 2012, and late last year Ellingworth indicated that he believed signing Cavendish was a logical decision. Ellingworth said late last year that he believed signing Cavendish was a logical decision.

"It's a challenge, but I believe he can win," Ellingworth told Cycling News in a long interview at McLaren headquarters.

"That's why he's here. That's why he's here." 'I've been really upfront with him. He's here to do his job. I want everyone on the team to be clear about why they are here. Some are development riders; some are here to win. I've been very clear with Mark that he is a bike rider and he is either here to win or to help win."
