Ere Research is a Dutch wheel specialist that draws on the experience of talented and tested designers and engineers.

Founded by Piet van der Velde, Ere's staff has a technical portfolio that includes work for some of cycling's most renowned brands.

Since 2017, Ere has established itself as a product specialist for wheels and tires. With its own specialized engineering resources, Ere prides itself on creating harmonious wheel and tire solutions that work best when paired together.

The company's new wheels are divided into three model lines: Genus (carbon), Explorator (aluminum), and Omnia (carbon). Recognizing the trend toward disc brakes in road cycling, Ere's updated portfolio features full rotor compatibility.

The benefit of Ere controlling the entire intellectual value chain of a product, from conceptualization to prototyping to final validation, is that it avoids many of the traditional supply chain and scaling compromises that large brands suffer.

Without absorbing legacy issues, Ere's technical team can deliver wheels that are closer to the original concept in their final production form.

Among the company's new series, the Genus SL30 is a very interesting dual-purpose wheelset. ELE has designed a carbon fiber layup for the Genus SL30 rims that combines ride comfort and vibration absorption frequency suitable for both gravel and road users.

The 700C size Genus SL30 wheelset weighs only 1460 g and has a tubeless compatible clincher rim profile Ere also manufactures tires that perfectly match this wheelset.

The Genus SL30 wheels are supported by Ere's proprietary 24-spoke pattern hub, a fusion of carbon and aluminum.

If you want to run a rigid fork for gravel, a conversion kit is available to adjust the Genus SL30 hub from a 12mm axle to a 15mm through axle. Depending on the frame and fork dropout specifications, the Genus SL30 axle can also be converted to a conventional quick-release system.

For road and gravel riders looking for low-friction rolling performance, ELE also offers a Japanese-made EZO ceramic bearing upgrade. The Genus SL30 wheelset retails for €1,399.
