Trek-Segafredo's Tour Down Under team, including Richie Porte and World Champion Mads Pedersen, will auction off a Trek Madone SLR disc (with Force Eatap AXS 12 speed) to benefit Australian bushfire victims. Names included.
Mattia Mauri, operations manager for Segafredo Zanetti Australia, announced that the auction will be held from today until the Tour Down Under to benefit the Australian Red Cross.
The group has already raised $1,200 by auctioning off signed jerseys of Porte and Pedersen.
"Segafredo Zanetti Australia is proud to offer a unique opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind professional bicycle signed by Trek Segafredo's 2020 Men's Tour Down Under team, valued at $10,749.00," the auction The auction description reads.
"The auction is open to anyone worldwide until the final Tour Down Under on January 26, 2020 at 7:45 p.m.
"All proceeds will go to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery, emergency aid to over 2,000 homes lost in the bushfires, shelters and relief centers"

The wine country through which the Tour Down Under passes was severely damaged by the Cuddle Creek fire in December, but its scale is only a fraction of the massive wildfires that continue to ravage New South Wales and Victoria. Damage and economic impacts are estimated to be in the billions of dollars.
