Stages Expands Lineup of Shimano Power Meters

Stages is expanding its power meter business by offering a variety of new options for Shimano users.

Followers of the Japanese drivetrain brand will be excited by the news that Stages has expanded its product offering to cover Shimano's product portfolio.

For road riders who have embraced gravel bikes, Stages finally has a power meter option for Shimano's GRX 810 crankset.

Like all other Stages products, this new GRX 810 power meter features superior digital convergence with ANT+ and Bluetooth signals, making it compatible with a wide range of devices and smartphones.

All Stages power meters are IPX7 rated waterproof, so gravel bike routes using this new GRX 810 crank sensor are weatherproof.

As for the weight burden, the Stages power meter is negligible at only 20 grams. The new Stages Shimano GRX 810 L power meter is priced at £349.

Besides the new GRX 810 L power meter, Stages has also introduced new XT and XTR crankset products. These are traditionally more rugged cranks for mountain biking, but are favored by gravel bikers who feel comfortable repurposing more rugged mountain bike components for light duty use.

For Shimano's XT and XTR cranksets, Stages has both one-sided and two-sided products, but the GRX gravel cranks are one-sided only. Prices for the single-sided XT power meter start at €399.

If one wants the same functionality as the XTR, the appropriate Stages power meter is available for €529 one-sided and €1,199 both sides.

The expanded selection of Shimano power meters will give gravel bikes more options, but the lack of a dual-sided GRX 810 variant may annoy those who want the most accurate data collection.
