Two-time winner Daryl Impey (Mitchelton-Scott) leads the race, with Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo) just two seconds back with Willunga Hill remaining heading into the final day.
Stage 6 will be the decisive GC stage, and as in the past two seasons, the two will likely face off again at the race's major obstacle.
Giacomo Nizzolo (NTT Pro Cycling) won the final stage with a sprint win, while Caleb Yuan (Lotto-Soudal) won the previous two stages and Sam Bennett (Detunink-Quick Step) won the opening stage.
