Just two weeks after surgery to correct a nodule in her groin artery, multi-time multi-discipline world champion Marianne Voss (CCC-Liv) posted a video of herself training on an elliptical walking machine from Tenerife, Spain.
A smiling Vos is soaking up the sun in the Canary Islands as she resumes training for the 2020 road season.
"I'm soaking up the sun in Tenerife, "training" for recovery. It's great to have another way to walk the island and exercise in this eye-catching ElliptiGO."
Vos announced that he would end his cyclocross season early, shortly after finishing fifth in the Dutch cyclocross championships last month. In a statement posted on the team's website, she revealed that she had been suffering for some time from a "nape" of the groin artery. After consulting with her doctors, she decided to undergo surgery to fix the problem as soon as possible.
At the time, Vos said it would take six weeks to recover, forcing her to miss the final two UCI Cyclocross World Cup races in Normay and Vogelheide, as well as the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Switzerland this weekend.
If Vos' recovery goes well, he should be able to jump into the new road season with CCC-Liv and the Dutch national team before selection events such as the Tokyo Olympics in July and the UCI Road World Championships in Switzerland in September.
"I am working with the team and working on the recovery process to achieve our goals during the road season," she said in a statement posted earlier by the team.
Voss had her most successful road season in 2019, winning 19 races. Among her most notable wins, the 32-year-old won four stages at the Giro Rosa, plus three stages and the overall win at the Ladies Tour of Norway. She also won the one-day races Trofeo Alfredo Binda and La Course by Le Tour de France.
Vos finished the season as the winner of the 2019 Women's World Tour.
