CAMS-Tifosi Women's Team Earns Invitation to Amstel Gold Race

CAMS-Tifosi will line up at the start of the Amstel Gold Race on April 19 as the only British women's team participating in the event. The race organization announced the 23 teams participating on Monday.

"In a highly competitive field, we are delighted that CAMS-Tifosi will be competing in the Amstel Gold Race in its first year at the UCI Women's Continental level. Race director Leo van Fleet, a former competitor and an old friend of mine, will be a great help to us.

The CAMS-Tifosi team recently confirmed that it has been awarded UCI Women's Continental Team status for the 2020 race season. The team has been competing for two seasons now.

The organizers of the Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition have announced the 23 teams invited to race in the Netherlands on April 19. Fifteen of these teams were invited automatically as the top World Teams and the second place Continental Teams based on their world ranking.

The organizers then extended wildcard invitations to eight Continental teams, with CAMS-Tifosi being the winner of Multum Accountants-LSK Ladies, Coltcini-Van Eyck Sport, Chevalmeire Cycling, Biehler Krush Pro, NXTG Racing, and Astana Women's Team, along with Hitec Products-Birk Sport. [including Megan Barker, Rebecca Darrell, Jessica Finney, Eli Gardner, Grace Garner, Natalie Glinzer, Charmaine Porter, Jenny Powell, Katie Scott, Gabriella Shaw, and Joe Tindley.

The team will unite at the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, February 20-23, and assemble for their first training camp in Spain.

The team will announce its roster for the Amstel Gold Race in April.

CAMS, a leading British accident management company, has signed a three-year sponsorship deal through 2022.
