Oakley has introduced its new Origins Collection for cyclists looking for style, color, and modern optical features from its youth.
This new model in Oakley's cycling sunglass range will appeal to those who remember the brand's legendary optics from 36 years ago.
Oakley established its reputation as a bold disruptor in the world of advanced sports optics with the Eyeshade, which debuted at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Inspired by the original Eyeshade model, Oakley has now introduced a tribute product called Sutro Origins. To avoid confusion, this is a limited production product and is not an expansion of Oakley's Sutro range.
Sutro Origins is available in three colors: celeste, redline, and a contrasting white with green stems.
Beyond the retro color combinations, everything else about Satro Origin is completely contemporary.
Optical coverage and protection are provided by Oakley's Prizm Black lenses, which emphasize contrast. These lenses make riders more aware of the depth of their field of vision and the shape of objects while riding.
The most iconic design feature of this new Oakley product is the perforated ventilation holes, which were present on the Eyeshade back in 1984, but Oakley's industrial designers managed to reintroduce them for the Sutro Origins, along with the brand's latest optical system. were successfully reintroduced.
Nothing is more annoying than having your glasses fog up when the weather changes while riding, and in 1984, Oakley learned of this and developed Eyeshade, which creates an airflow across the lens surface to eliminate fogging.
To ensure a comfortable, ergonomic, and seamless fit, the Satro Origin features Oakley's Unobtanium nose pads, which prevent the frame from shifting on the face as it goes over a series of small bumps.
Oakley will sell the Sutro Origins for $166.
