In the second podcast from the UAE tour, Chris Froome (Team Ineos), Adam Yates (Mitchelton Scott), Sam Bennett (Detunink Quickstep), and, as the title suggests, the 1930s Australian Emu War We'll also bring you the following. Spoiler alert: Emus won.
We begin with a recap of the first two days of racing after Pascal Ackermann (Beulah Hansgrohe) and Caleb Yuan (the new race leader) shared the spoils.
Once again, Australian writer Sophie Smith joins us to hear from Chris Froome. The British rider talks about rehab and being able to walk again, and reveals that he underwent further surgery in December due to an infected internal stitch.
We also speak with Adam Yates. The British climber finished fourth overall and took the white jersey at the 2016 Tour de France, but has not reached those heights in a Grand Tour since. He tells us why this Tour was different and what he changed in his schedule and plans.
Smith gives insight into how stage 3 will unfold and how much popularity the Yates brothers share in Australia. And the emus make an appearance.
