Futuristic 3D printed Physique Antares Versus Evo 00 Adaptive now available for purchase

Fizik unveiled its 3D printed saddle at Eurobike last September, hinting at a release in the near future. And today, Fizik officially unveiled its new 3D printed saddle, the Antares Versus Evo 00 Adaptive.

Fizik developed this new saddle based on the existing Antares Versus Evo 00 racing saddle platform, continuing the Versus Evo's full-channel design and utilizing the already successful high-module carbon body and rails, base to support a new innovative 3D printed pad.

What makes this saddle so interesting is the 3D printed grid of pads. Fizik's partnership with Silicon Valley Carbon (which also partners with Specialized) allows them to utilize Carbon Digital Light Synthesis technology (DLS) to create very complex structures with specific mechanical properties and finishes that are not possible with standard foam padding It has opened up possibilities.

In the real world, this allowed Fizik to produce saddles with four zones. These zones were determined by analyzing various pressure profiles and how these patterns varied with bike geometry, riding position, and riding style.

By incorporating the knowledge gained from saddle telemetry and experimenting with DLS construction, Fizik is able to provide specific characteristics that blend seamlessly. Emphasis is placed on the middle zone to increase pedaling stability and promote blood flow. There is also a compression gradient to support the sit bones and sciatic zone. Fizik has also taken care of the nose portion of the saddle to support the most aero position and the rear cushion for riders who prefer a more rearward-facing position.

Fizik has ensured that the new pads are durable enough to withstand real-world use based on tests simulating accelerated weathering, UV aging, and abrasion resistance. These saddles are used by professional teams such as Fizik-sponsored Team Ineos and Jumbo Visma, and are also used on the seatposts of Movistar riders in the Tour Down Under. It is easy to clean a dirty saddle on a MTB or gravel bike by simply hosing it down with water.

Fizik's 3D printed Antares Versus Evo 00 Adaptive is available in two width options and retails for £369.99/$399.00/€390.00.
