Segregated FDJ Athletes Compete Sunday at Go Zwift

Groupama-FDJ athletes are still quarantined in their hotels after the UAE tour was cancelled due to the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak in the United Arab Emirates.

At least three of the riders still in hotels in the UAE will compete in Go Zwift's Danish Cycling Union 2020 Cup on Sunday morning to maintain their early season fitness.

Arnaud Demare, David Gaudoux, and Ignatas Konovalovas will board their trainers at 10:00 AM Danish time (1:00 PM UAE time) to break the monotony of the hotel where they have been sequestered since the race was cancelled after the fifth stage on February 27. Trying to break through.

Sunday's event will consist of three laps of the 26.6-km circuit.

Seven riders - Demare, Gordou, Konovalovas, Jacopo Guarnieri, Miles Scotson, Bruno Amirail and Ramon Sinkerdam - along with riders Cofidis and Gazprom Rusvelo, have been staying in hotels since the race was cancelled.

Most of the team's riders and staff were able to depart, along with other race entertainers and media, but the Emirates health authorities have not yet confirmed that Groupama-FDJ, Gazrom-Rusvelo, G. Groupama-FDJ, Cofidis, and Gazprom-Rusvelo members were quarantined on the fourth floor of the team hotel until at least March 14.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, four players tested positive for the virus. Cofidis and Groupama-FDJ confirmed that all of the players and staff tested negative, but further tests appear to have revealed further cases of infection from Gazprom Rusvelo and UAE Team Emirates players and staff.
