Coronavirus London Bike Show postponed

Newtimber Media, organizer of the London Bike Show, announced today that the London Bike Show and Triathlon Show: London has been postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus throughout the UK and Europe, announced that the event will be postponed.

The show, originally scheduled for March 27-29, will now take place July 3-5.

In a statement on the London Bike Show website, organizers confirmed that they have been "following UK government guidelines and working with rolling advice from public health authorities," but cited the World Health Organization's (WHO) classification of the virus as a pandemic as The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the virus a pandemic, which was cited as the reason for the decision.

"The safety and wellbeing of our staff, exhibitors, visitors, partners, and contractors is of paramount importance to us, and we therefore feel that the protection and prevention of harm to the public was paramount in this decision," the statement said.

For attendees, tickets and reservations will be automatically transferred to the new dates, and existing tickets will be valid for admission to the new dates. If you are unable to attend the new dates, you are encouraged to request a refund from SeeTickets.

The London Bike Show has been postponed or cancelled due to the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The final two stages of the UAE Tour were cancelled in late February before the outbreak in northern Italy, leading to the cancellation of Strade Bianche and the postponement of Tirreno Adriatico, Milan San Remo and Trofeo Alfredo Binda.

Paris-Nice was held, but was later changed to take place "behind closed doors" with limited access for fans at the start and finish of the stage. The organizers of the Sea Otter Classic were forced to change the dates of the American outdoor cycling festival.

The Ghent-Wevelgem men's and women's races and the E3 Binkbank Classic were cancelled in Belgium after the Flemish government banned the sport until March 31 following the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Cyclingnews created a coronavirus timeline in cycling, outlining how the pandemic affected the sport and the industries surrounding it.
