Arkea Samsic, along with Nairo Quintana, aims for Tour de France win

"I know what great things he can do and I have known since he turned pro," said Rudanova, who was director sportif for Quintana's former team, Movistar.

Since then, Quintana has won the Giro d'Italia (2014) and the Vuelta a España (2016) and twice made the podium at the Tour de France, finishing second in 2015 and third the following year.

"Now our focus will be on the Tour," Redanova said. Nairo will recover from Paris-Nice and then we will have to see what happens with regard to the current [coronavirus] situation."

Currently, professional athletes in the sport face a mandatory break from racing, but according to Ledanois, Quintana will return to Colombia on an interim basis "to avoid being away from his family for too long," and Quintana will face a 14-day mandatory quarantine after entering his home country from abroad He will have to face a 14-day mandatory quarantine after entering his country from abroad.
