Although he missed out on a stage win at La Prance des Belle Filles, he was the leader after stages 6 and 7 of last year's Tour de France thanks to a breakaway.
Last week, Ciccone launched a fundraising campaign for the Policlinico SS. Annunziata Hospital in Chieti. He launched a fundraising campaign for the Annunziata Hospital.
"In this time of serious emergency, the ward is in need of a new ventilator and this campaign will help them," Ciccone wrote on the fundraising page.
Once donations reached half of the €10,000 goal, he increased his donation even further by offering two Tour de France jerseys and two Trek Segafredo jerseys.
The top two finishers will receive a signed maillot jaune, while the third and fourth finishers will receive the team jersey.
