Bahrain McLaren Joins Digital Swiss 5 Racing Series

Bahrain McLaren announced Wednesday that it is the latest team to participate in the Digital Switzerland 5, a series of five virtual races on the same course as scheduled for the 2020 Tour de Suisse. The five races will be held on the eSports platform Rouvy and will take place from April 22 to 26.

"Digital Switzerland 5 is an initiative launched by Tour de Suisse organizer Veron and e-sports platform Rouvy in response to the Covid-19 challenge.

"It will bring several benefits for our teams, including exposure for our partners, engagement with fans, and new challenges for participating riders.

The Digital Swiss 5 now includes WorldTour teams Detuning Quick-Step, AG2R La Mondiale, EF Pro Cycling, Bora Hansgrohe, CCC Team, Team Ineos, Mitchelton Scott, Movistar, and Lot Soudal, Trek Segafredo, and 19 other teams will participate.

Three riders per team will compete in the five-day virtual race. Each race will run for one hour per day, and teams may change their three riders for each race.

The series will be broadcast live on TV and online, and fans will be able to participate in virtual events organized before and after the races.

The professional team rider lineup will be announced soon, along with five race routes.
