The Movistar team has invited fans to enter a contest to design a new jersey to be worn by the team when it returns to competition following its current hiatus due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The team also offered signed jerseys to the Spanish Red Cross and the Italian Protezione Civile to be auctioned to benefit their respective coronavirus relief funds.
The competition runs through April 26, and entrants can download the template (opens in new tab) that will serve as the basis for the jersey from the website of kit manufacturer Ale Cycling (opens in new tab). Entries can be handwritten or computerized, and the sponsor's name must appear on all designs.
Fans can post their entries on Instagram using the hashtag #SeguimosConectados and tagging @alecyclingofficial and @movistar_team.
A jury of Alley and the Movistar team will select a shortlist of six entries, and fans can vote for the winner on Instagram from April 24 to 26.
"The design chosen by the fans will be used by Ale, the team's official technical partner, on the jerseys that Movistar team riders will use at UCI World Tour events upon their return to racing," Movistar announced on Monday.
"The winner will get a kit with the new design. A portion of the jerseys signed by the full team will be sent to the Spanish Red Cross and Protezione Civile in Italy to provide a relief fund for those affected by the coronavirus.
