Bianchi has been announced as the new official bike brand of the Giro d'Italia, with the famous celeste Italian bike to be used with Shimano neutral support and in the Giro-E electric bike event that will shadow the Giro d'Italia stages.
Bianchi will replace Pinarello as the bike of choice for the Giro d'Italia, and its three-year contract with race organizer RCS Sport will also apply to the UAE Tour and Il Lombardia.
Along with the Giro d'Italia, Bianchi is also an official sponsor of the UAE Tour, Il Lombardia, the only World Tour stage race held in the United Arab Emirates, and from 20201 the Strade Bianche.
Under the agreement, Bianchi will supply Aria e-road models to Giro-E events and use the Bianchi Lif-E electric intelligence mobility program.
Bianchi will also become an official sponsor of the soon-to-be-announced Giro d'Italia Virtual. The Giro d'Italia Virtual will take place from April 18 to May 10, and will feature eight teams of professional riders who will ride on the Garmin/Tax digital platform for everyone to participate. Bianchi has created a special limited edition "Aria -Bianco Italia" for the Giro d'Italia Virtual, which will be available online for a limited time at the Bianchi Store.
Bianchi is one of the historic brands of Italian cycling, based in Treviglio, south of Bergamo, one of the areas hardest hit by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Bianchi bikes have been used by some of the biggest names in cycling history, including Fausto Coppi, Felice Gimondi, and Marco Pantani, and are currently used by Vuelta a EspaƱa winner Primoz Roglic, Tom Dumoulin, sprinter It is used by Jumbo Visma with Dylan Groenewegen; Roglic wore the race leader's pink jersey for two days in 2019, finishing third overall behind Richard Carapaz and Vincenzo Nibali.
